Magickal Moon Workings

My previous blog , Moon Phases and Magick, addressed the occult purposes and significance of various moon phases. Moon spells and other things were hinted at. Now, this Blog is going to explain more lunar lore: moon spells, moon water, and other things relating to the moon.

New Moon Spell

3 white candles, dressed with olive oil or any lunar oil

Parchment paper

Ink or feather pen

Dove's or Dragon's Blood Ink

Meditative incense, such as sandalwood (optional)

Fireproof dish

Put the 3 white candles in the middle of your altar, in a row. Do this near a window so that the darkness of the New Moon can be seen. While lighting them, chant this invocation 3 times to the Maiden Goddess of the New Moon:

Hail, Moon Maiden, dark in the sky

Bring my true desires nigh.

As the bright moon waxes great

Bring my wish to truest fate.

Take the parchment paper and rip it on all 4 sides, so that no side has a machine-cut edge. Tear it deosil. Take the pen, dip it in the appropriate ink, and write your desire 3 times in the middle. Fold it once over, then fold it again, and fold it again. Place it in the burning dish, and light it with the middle candle.

When it is done burning, say: So mote it be! or whatever other phrase you would use.

Note: dove's blood ink is for love spells, and dragon's blood is for general spells.

Full Moon Prosperity Spell

This spell is to be started 3 days before the full moon.

3 white candles, dressed with olive oil or lunar oil

1 large green candle, dressed with patchouli or money drawing oil

Money drawing incense (or patchouli)

Money drawing oil (or patchouli)

Dollar bill (3 in all)

Moon water (optional)

Set up the altar in a place where the nearly-full or full moon can be seen, in its glory. Light the money drawing incense, and then light the white candles while chanting:

Hail, Moon Mother, bright in the sky

Bring my true desires nigh.

As the full moon waxes great

Bring prosperity to my fate.

Light the green candle, and imagine a greenish-golden energy emanating from the candle. This is the essence of prosperity. Envision having all the wealth that you know you deserve, and put the glass of moonwater in front of the candle. If you do not have moonwater, imagine that you are drawing the energy of prosperity into your body. If you do have moonwater, drink the whole glass of moonwater and say:

I now take in the lunar spirit of prosperity.

Take the dollar bill. Anoint it on each corner with the money drawing oil and say:

As this money leaves from me

So it attracts prosperity.

As I give, so I receive

Each dollar shall attract three.

Say: So mote it be, and spend the dollar the following day.

Making Moon Water

Take a clear glass jar of spring water and leave it outside, open, from moonrise to dawn, where it can catch the rays of the moon. Then cap the jar and keep it in a cool, dark place. This is especially effective for the full moon. The water will take on the mystical properties of any particular moon phase. Use full moon water in workings, or simply drink it, to enhance creativity and prosperity.
